, Tuesday, 19 June 2018 (12:13 IST)
As expected, the second-gen Amaze has taken the crown back from the City and the Jazz-based WR-V to become Honda Car India’s best-selling model. The pre-launch bookings for the new Amaze began on 6 April and it was launched on 16 May 2018 at an introductory price of Rs 5.59 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The second-gen Amaze has breathed new life into the outright sales figures of the nameplate as the previous model faced a sales slump since 2016, with less than 2,000 units being sold every month on an average.

New Delhi, June 1st, 2018: Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL), leading manufacturer of passenger cars in India, registered monthly domestic sales of 15,864 units in May 2018 against 11,278 units in corresponding month last year, registering a growth of 41%. This growth was led by All New Honda Amaze clocking monthly sales of 9,789 units, which is highest ever monthly sales numbers for a single Honda model.

HCIL also exported a total of 516 units in May 2018.

Speaking on the sales results, Mr. Rajesh Goel, Senior Vice President and Director, Sales and Marketing, Honda Cars India said, “We are delighted with the customer response to the All New Amaze which has helped our overall sales grow by 41% in May 2018. The customers have appreciated the car for its one class above offering of unmatched bold design, sophisticated & spacious interiors, advanced engine technology and outstanding driving dynamics.” “During last month, we prioritized Amaze production volumes to cater to the strong customer demand. We are confident that we will continue with our sales momentum in coming months,” he added.
