No Licence Needed! This Budget Electric Scooter Offers Impressive Features and 80km Range

Greaves Electric Mobility-owned Ampere has launched the new Reo VYB electric scooter in India at an introductory price of Rs. 69,499 (ex-showroom). The latest addition to the company's entry-level lineup is aimed at first-time EV buyers, students, urban commuters, and riders looking for an affordable low-speed electric scooter.

The Reo VYB joins Ampere's growing family scooter range and is positioned as a practical mobility solution for short-distance daily travel in cities and semi-urban areas.

Battery, Range and Top Speed

The Ampere Reo VYB is powered by a Lithium Ferro Phosphate (LFP) battery, a technology known for its enhanced safety, thermal stability, and long lifespan. The company claims the scooter can deliver a riding range of up to 80 km on a single charge.

As a low-speed electric scooter, the Reo VYB has a top speed of 25 kmph. Under current regulations, vehicles in this category do not require a driving licence or registration, making them accessible to a wider range of users.

Ampere also claims the battery is designed to last up to 1,00,000 km, offering long-term durability for everyday riders.

The Reo VYB comes equipped with several convenience and safety features, including:

According to Greaves Electric Mobility, the Reo VYB has been developed to cater to the growing demand for affordable electric mobility solutions, especially in Tier-II and Tier-III cities where EV adoption is steadily increasing. The scooter is also expected to appeal to last-mile delivery users and daily commuters seeking low running costs.

Warranty and After-Sales Support

Ampere is offering the Reo VYB with a warranty of three years or 30,000 km. Customers will also have access to the company's nationwide after-sales network, which includes more than 400 service touchpoints and customer support services across India.
