Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's first born Aryan's release from jail hit a roadblock on Friday as it got deferred by a day when the release order by the sessions court after accepting surety did not reach the Arthur Road Jail by 5.30 pm.

Actress Juhi Chawla, who has seen Aryan since his childhood, ever since her first appearance opposite Shah Rukh in "Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman", stood as suerty for the 23-year-old accused in the Mumbai Cruise Drugs Bust case after the Bombay High Court on Thursday granted bail to the actor son after 26 days in custody.

Juhi appreard before the sessions court with advocate Satish Maneshinde. "Bail formalities were complete. Surety of Juhi Chawla has been accepted. We are moving ahead. Juhi Chawla knows him since childhood," Maneshinde said.

However, as the sessions court's formal order to release Aryan did not reach the jail officials before 5.30 pm as is required for undertrials, Shah Rukh's son will have to spend another night in prison.

Bombay High Court on Friday issued the release order for Aryan while directing him to furnish surety of Rs 1 lakh.

The court released the operative order on the conditions imposed while granting the bail.

Justice NV Sambare in his five-page order directed him and his two friends Arbaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha to “not indulge in similar activities, or establish contact with co-accused or similar persons, or make calls to people indulging in similar activities”.

Aryan also cannot leave the country without prior permission and he cannot make a statement to the media, including social media, regarding the proceedings.

He has been directed not to leave Mumbai without informing his investigative officer.

Aryan was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in the case of seizure of banned drugs aboard a cruise ship off the Mumbai coast on October 2.

The drugs bust triggered a series of controversies and put the central agency and its official under the spotlight.

Aryan has spent 27 days custody since he was nabbed from the cruise ship. (UNI)
