New Delhi: Bollywood's renowned character actor, Danny Denzongpa, marked his 77th birthday on Sunday, still going strong in a glittering career that spans nearly four decades.

Born on February 25, 1948, Danny initially aspired to join the army but later shifted gears towards acting, receiving training at the Pune Film and Television Institute.

Despite initial struggles and roles in B-grade films, Danny's breakthrough came with Gulzar's "Mere Apne." The turning point in his career was the 1973 film "Dhund," where he portrayed a domineering handicapped man, earning accolades for his measured performance.
