DCW issues notice to Delhi Police, seeks FIR against Mukesh Khanna for "misogynistic" remark

New Delhi: The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) has issued notice to Delhi Police Cyber Cell, seeking registration of an FIR against actor Mukesh Khanna for his allegedly derogatory and misogynistic comments.

DCW Chairperson Swati Maliwal said, “A purported video went viral in which actor Mukesh Khanna saying that if a girl wants to have sex then she is not a girl, she is doing ‘dhanda’. I have issued a notice to Delhi Police, seeking strict action against him for his statements.”

"His statement is extremely misogynistic and offensive to women. Further, it outrages the modesty of women and attracts several sections of IPC," Maliwal added.

The commission has also sought a copy of the FIR of this case and an action taken report in the matter from Delhi Police till August 13. (UNI)
