Dream of a Fit India will soon be a reality: Shilpa Shetty

New Delhi: Bollywood actress and fitness expert Shilpa Shetty Kundra on Thursday expressed the hope that the dream of a fit India would soon be a reality.  
Shilpa, who attended the launch of the 'Fit India movement' by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the National Capital here this morning, congratulated Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju on a fabulous start to the fitness  movement,  which would encourage people to inculcate physical activity and sports in their everyday lives.
  
Replying to a tweet by the Sports Minister in which he expressed his appreciation over her active participation in the launch of the ''Fit India movement'', Shilpa said, ''My pleasure and duty Kiren Rijiju Sir, the dream of fit India will be a reality soon.. Congratulations on a fabulous start.''
  
Earlier, in a tweet, Rijiju had said, ''Express my deep sense of gratitude & appreciation to Shilpa Shetty for actively participating in the launch of Fit India Movement by PM Narendra Modi ji. She contributed with her valuable tips to make it a people's movement.''
  
While launching the movement at the Indira Gandhi Indoor stadium in the morning, the PM said, ''Sports is directly related to fitness. But the Fit India Movement that has started today has expanded beyond sports. Fitness is not just a word, it is a key requirement of a healthy and happy life.''
 
He said the aim of the movement is to inspire people of the country to make lifestyle changes to cure lifestyle disorders.
 
 ''Lifestyle diseases are happening due to lifestyle disorders. Lifestyle disorders can be cured by making lifestyle changes. There are diseases that can be overcome by making small changes in your lifestyle. The name Fit India Movement is to inspire the country for these changes ,'' Mr Modi said.(UNI)
