Chandigarh: While Punjabi films usually offer a mix of humour and light-heartedness, legendary Indian cricketer Kapil Dev feels 'Jahankila' is something different in that i carries a message for the youth.
"So I stepped forward to promote it," said World Cup winning skipper Dev.
Interacting with the media on the occasion of the release of "Jahankila", he said it carries an inspiring message for the youth. "So they must watch this film," he said. He also mentioned that although he watches fewer films generally, 'Jahankila' left an impact on him.
The director of the film Vicky Kadam, whose directorial debut this is, explained that in collaboration with Housejet Productions and SVIP Films, it provides a platform for equal opportunities in content development for youth, enabling them to make significant contributions to society.
He described how the film 'Jahankila' discusses patriotism, national unity, and focuses on empowering women and youth. He explained that the name 'Jahankila' means 'World Fort', symbolising the steadfast dedication, courage, and sacrifice of the commandos who risk their lives to keep India safe.
Lead actor Jobanpreet Singh, lead actress Gurbani Gill, and lyricist and music composer Shailendra Sodhi were also present at this event.
