First weekend collection of Padman at the box office is promising

Mumbai: Akshay Kumar Starrer Padman had a lukewarm start at box-office but gained momentum. The movie is based on a social cause and Padmaavat is released in two states where the movie was earlier banned. Even though the beginning of Padman should be termed good enough.

The collection on the opening day (Friday) was 10. 26 crore. The mouth publicity, improved the collections on the second day 13.68. While the movie garnered a sum of 15.56 crore on Sunday. The gross collection of the movie reached 39.5 crore which is a good start. Now the movie need to perform steady on week days. (WD)
