Mumbai: Film director Vikas Bahl on Wednesday sent legal notices to his former Phantom Films partners Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane, alleging them of defaming him, amid the sexual harassment allegations.
According to the notice, issued through Advocate Shamsher Garud of Jayakar and Partners, "It is by design that after having remained silent about the alleged incident and alleged victim for three years, you have now come forward and supported the alleged victim. It is imperative to highlight that the alleged victim herself has mentioned that your sudden moral enlightenment is nothing but a hoax and there is a personal agenda behind it".
The notices came in the wake of Kashyap and Motwane's statements on social media condemning Bahl in the wake of the allegations."You are neither a witness nor the alleged victim, but instead an opportunist seeking to derive benefit based on unsubstantiated information," the notices states.
"The alleged incident has not been established in any court of law and that you have exploited the media to propagate your own personal vendetta", the notices added.Denying all allegations, the 'Queen' director has accused them of being "opportunists" who wanted to defame, malign and destroy Bahl's career out of "professional jealousy".
