Two people including a man who allegedly opened fire outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan's residence in Mumbai have been arrested from Gujarat's Bhuj, police said on Tuesday.
Based on technical surveillance, joint teams of the Kutch-West and Mumbai police nabbed Vicky Gupta (24) and Sagar Pal (21) - residents of Bihar - late Monday night from Mata No Madh village in Gujarat's Kutch district, Deputy Inspector General of Kutch-West, Mahendra Bagadiya, said.
A preliminary probe suggested that both Pal and Gupta were hired by the gang of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi to open fire at the Dabangg actor's house, he said.
While Pal did the firing, Gupta was in touch with the gang members, Bagadiya said.
They were handed over to the Mumbai police, he said.
As per the police, five rounds were fired outside Salman's Galaxy Apartments in Bandra at 5 a.m. on Sunday by two bike-borne assailants.
CCTV footage of the area shows that the two shooters have been identified by the police.
Mumbai Police searched 100s of CCTV Footage and found photos of 2 accused in less than 18 hours, who fired gunshot outside of Salman Khan house on Sunday morning.
As per sources in the Crime Branch, the bike that was used by the shooters was later found parked near Mount Mary Church, which is in close proximity to Salman's residence.
It may be recalled that one Anmol Bishnoi, a member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, claimed responsibility for the attack on Sunday evening.
In a Facebook post, he stated that the firing was only a "trailer," and if Salman does not apologise to the Bishnoi community, he will have to face dire consequences.
