New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Thursday stayed proceedings initiated in a family court in Thiruvananthapuram on plea of a woman claiming herself to be the biological daughter of singer Anuradha Paudwal.
A bench headed by Chief Justice S A Bobde and comprising Justices B R Gavai and Surya Kant issued notice to the woman on the plea filed by the singer seeking transfer of case from Thiruvanathapuram to Mumbai and stayed proceedings in the case.
The forty-five-year-old woman has filed a petition in the court, claiming that she hat she was the daughter of Paudwal and sought a Rs 50 crore compensation from the singer for allegedly denying her the childhood and life she was entitled to.
The Thiruvananthapuram family court summoned Paudwal accepting the plea of the woman, following which the noted singer moved the Top Court. (UNI)
