Shahid Kapoor’s upcoming film ‘Jersey’ is all set to release on Diwali this year. The film will have a theatrical release. Shahid, who will be seen playing a cricketer in the film, announced the release date on Sunday in an Instagram post.
Sharing a still of him from the film, the actor wrote, “JERSEY releasing in theatres this DIWALI 5th November 2021. The triumph of the human spirit. A journey I am so very proud of. This ones for the TEAM….”
Directed by Gowtham Tinnanuri, ‘Jersey’, a remake of a Telugu film with the same title, stars Shahid Kapoor in the lead along with Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapoor in a key role.
An official remake of the 2019 Telugu film with the same title, also directed by Tinnanuri, ‘Jersey’ marks Shahid Kapoor’s on-screen reunion with his father, Pankaj Kapur.
Shahid Kapoor was last seen in the 2019 hit Kabir Singh, co-starring Kiara Advani.
