Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin has announced that the Kamdar Nagar first street where the house of late playback singer S P Balasubramanian is located, would be named after the legendary singer.
An official release here said the Kamdar Nagar first street at Nungambakkam where SPB lived would be named after him in recognition of his contributions to the Tamil film industry and to honour him.
It said SPB had sung more than 40,000 songs in various languages and was recipient of various awards including Padma Shri and Padma Vibushan, had also acted in films and had a special love and affection towards late Chief Minister M Karunanidhi.
Though SPB passed away on September 25, 2020, he still lives in the heart of the people, it said.
