Trailer of "Thalaivi" released on the birthday of Kangana Ranaut

Mumbai: Kangana Ranaut got a birthday gift on the eve of her birthday by bagging the national award for best actress in the movie Panga and Manikarnika, now the trailer of her much-awaited movie "Thalaivi" has been released.  Kananga Ranaut will essay the role of late TN CM Jayalalitha. 

The actor-turned-politician, who passed away on December 5, 2016 due to cardiac arrest, is fondly referred to as ‘Puratchi Thalaivi’, which means ‘revolutionary leader’.Titled “Thalaivi” in Tamil and “Jaya” in Hindi, the biographical drama is directed by Vijay, one of the top filmmakers from South who has directed movies like “Madrasapattinam” and “Deiva Thirumagal”.

Director Vijay says, “Madam Jayalalithaa has been an inspiration to many. Her life is a story that needs to reach millions and today being her Birth Anniversary we decided to make sure that we don’t miss honouring the legend by remembering her fondly. I must thank Kangana Ranaut for her sturdy dedication in breathing absolute life into the role. We are sure that her contribution will escalate the quality of the entire film to the best of its caliber.”

Kangana Ranaut is one actor who pays attention to every detail in the character she plays. Ever since the it was announced that Kangana will be playing Jayalalithaa in a biopic on the superstar turned politician, there was a lot of interest around how the actor would look, especially in the older version.The movie is set to release on 23rd April 2021.(WD)
