Things going bad to worse for B-town & multiplex owners

Things going bad to worse for B-town & multiplex owners
, Wednesday, 23 December 2020 (14:10 IST)
Despite the resumption of cinemas in the country since October, most of the theaters are still locked, which can give an idea of ??how severe the situation is. The owners of cineplexes think that a closed one is better than an open one as it will be difficult to recover expenses.
Businesses that have been badly affected by the Coronavirus include the film Film industry. Still, No one is in a position to say when the situation will improve.

Theaters have opened, but there is no big-budget film to premiere. Indu Ki Jawani or Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari has failed to drag the audience to theaters. Suryavanshi and the producers of 83 are scared because they believe that the audience is scared and will not come to see the film, putting their lives at risk. Also, films with 50 percent capacity have been allowed to run and due to these condition big films can suffer big losses.

Overall the situation is not clear. The films of the big stars are not releasing, so how is it to be believed that the audience will not come to theaters? One or two big films will have to be released to see the response, but the question is who will take this chance?

The audience in the theatres can be counted on the fingertips. Most of the shows are being canceled due to a lack of audience. Even the payment of Electricity bill has become a headache . Watching this condition of multiplexes, single-screen owners have been extra cautious and decided to not open the theatres.

The loss of crores has been incurred in the past nine months. New films are being produced but at a crawling pace. Producers will also be afraid to kick off a new project with the same status quo. Why would one want to spend crores of rupees? OTT players may change their policy anytime. They may refuse to buy the rights or if they wish to buy the amount may be meager.

Film exhibitors, distributors, and filmmakers, all three are going through a lean patch and have no other option but to wait for the good days.
