Actress Mallika Sherawat is returning to mainstream Bollywood movies after a long hiatus. She will be next seen in ‘Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video’. Now, a video of the ‘Murder’ actress is going viral where she opened up about the challenges she faced in Bollywood due to her bold on-screen image.
In the viral video, Mallika shared how top actors assumed her daring on-screen acts meant she would be open to compromising off-screen as well. She revealed that many top actors would often call her at night, expecting her to meet them, believing that her boldness on-screen should translate into her personal life. However, Mallika firmly rejected these advances, emphasizing her commitment to her values.
She candidly acknowledged that her refusal to comply with these inappropriate expectations led to her being sidelined in the industry.
She said, “Some heroes would call me and say ‘come and see me at night’. Aur main phone pe kehti thi, ‘Why should I come and see you at night? For what?’ They would say, ‘Aree tum itne bold roles kar leti ho screen pe, to mere ko raat ko milne mein kya problem hai?’ The heroes were taking this kind of liberties with me. They were thinking ke jab yeh parde pe itne bold scenes karti hai, toh humare saath bhi bold ho sakti hai, humare saath bhi toh compromise kar sakti hai. I am not like that.”
