Mumbai: Sanjay Leela Bhansali has produced a film like Devdas with Shahrukh Khan. After this the relations between the two got worse when Shahrukh's 'Om Shanti Om' and Bhansali's 'Saawariya' were released on the same date. There were a lot of differences in their relationship . Later, the gap between both was abridged gradually. When Bhansali was choosing an artist for 'Padmavat', Ranveer Singh for Khilji and Deepika Padukone for Padmavati were fixed. For the role of Maharaja Ratan Singh, they were unable to decide any one's name.
Before the shooting started, he offered this role to Shahrukh Khan. Shahrukh Khan turned down the role. He did not feel strained in this role because this movie revolves around Khilji and Padmavati. In such a situation, Shah Rukh did not want to play this supporting role.
