Mumbai: Actor Babil Khan, the 26-year-old son of late actor Irrfan Khan, has shared online a heartfelt memory of his father, expressing gratitude and longing.
Taking to his Instagram account, the actor shared a clip of an interview Irrfan and another Bollywood hero Akshay Kumar had given to journalist Rajeev Masand.
During the interview, 'Angrezi Medium' actor Irrfan jokingly remarked, “my son is not figuring out”.
Touched by his father's statement, Babil wished his father had watched his commendable performance in the OTT show 'The Railway Men'.
Babil admitted that at the time of the interview, he indeed felt “very lost” in life. Reflecting on his father’s words, he said, “I wish I could have shown him that the boy baba watched grow up has, in fact, made it out and made it".
Babil thanked Shiv Rawail for giving him the opportunity to work 'The Railway Men', according to Pinkvilla.
Further in his post, Babil walked down the memory lane sharing his time while studying at the University of Westminster in London, where he survived on minimum resources.
"A few years later I went to London on minimum pocket money, worked in bars and bartended at Lord’s, Wembley and in contrast many violent football stadiums that had fans that would literally assault you if you didn’t pour that guiness right (and till today I bet anybody to pour it better than me), shot music videos for rappers, took ketchup from McDonald’s and bread from my friend when the pocket money ran out because 600 pounds in London for a month is barely enough ask anyone attending uni in London. It’s the hustle that I fell in love with."
Babil started his journey as a camera assistant in the 2017 movie, Qarib Qarib Single. It was in 2022 when he made his acting debut in Qala along with Tripti Dimri and Swastika Mukherjee. Last year, he starred in the mini-series 'The Railway Men' along with an ensemble cast comprising R. Madhavan, Kay Kay Menon, Divyenndu, Sunny Hinduja and Juhi Chawla.
