COVID-19: Colleges, schools shut, night curfew in Punjab

Chandigarh: The Punjab government on Tuesday ordered the closure of educational educations and imposed a night curfew from 10 pm to 5 am in view of a sudden spurt in Covid-19 cases.

The restrictions have been imposed till January 15, according to an official order.

All sports complexes, stadiums, swimming pools and gyms shall remain closed except those used for training of sportspersons for participation in national and international sports events. No spectators or visitors are to be allowed.

Air-conditioned buses will run at 50 per cent capacity.

Bars, cinemas halls, multiplexes, malls, restaurants, spas, museums and zoos can operate at 50 per cent of their capacity subject to all staff being fully vaccinated.

Only fully vaccinated staff will be allowed to attend government and private offices, factories and industries.

While schools, colleges, universities and coaching institutes shall be closed, medical and nursing colleges can function normally. (UNI)
