COVID-19: India logs 6,561 cases, 142 deaths in last 24 hrs

New Delhi: India has registered 6,561 Covid-19 cases, while the daily positivity rate stood at 0.74 per cent, as per the Union Health Ministry data on Thursday.

A total 142 deaths were reported, taking the total fatality count to 5,14,388. The Ministry data said the total active cases in the country stood at 77,152.

The active cases comprise 0.18 per cent of the total infections, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate has decreased to 98.62 per cent.

The recovery tally rose to 4,23,53,620 as 14,947 people got freed from the disease.

According to the bulletin, 77 crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far. In the last 24 hours, a total of 8,82,953 tests have been conducted.

"India has administered 177.13 doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive," Ministry data said. (UNI)
