New Delhi: India on Thursday reported 22,431 fresh cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, taking the country’s total tally to 3,38,94,312.
According to the Health Ministry, the active caseload stood at 2,44,198, the lowest in the last 204 days, whereas recovery rate reached 97.95 percent, the highest since march 2020.
“Total recoveries in the last 24 hours was 24,602, taking the total tally to 3,32,00258 in the country,” the data mentioned.
The data suggested that the active cases account for less than 1 percent of the total cases, which is 0.72 per cent, the lowest since March 2020.
The weekly positivity rate stood at 1.68 per cent which is less than 3 per cent for the last 104 days.
The ministry said as the testing capacity across the country continues to be expanded a total of 14,31,819 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours.
“India has so far conducted over 57.86 Cr cumulative tests,” said the Ministry.
Meanwhile, with the administration of 43,09,525 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage exceeded 92.63Cr (92,63,68,608) as per provisional reports till 7 am on Thursday.
As per the date, as many as 7.64 crore doses are still available with the states/UTs. (UNI)
