COVID 4th wave scare: India logs 13,313 fresh cases in last 24 hrs

New Delhi: India has recorded 13,313 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total active cases to 83,990 as per the Health Ministry data on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the total case since the pandemic began in the country is stood at 4,33,44,958.

As many as 38 fresh fatalities were also recorded in the last 24 hours, taking the total death count in the country, as a result of coronavirus, to 52,4941.

Meanwhile, 10,972 recoveries were reported in the last 24 hours, increasing the total recoveries to 4,2736,027.

The active cases comprise 0.19 percent of the total infections, whereas the national COVID-19 recovery rate stands at 98.6 percent.

On the vaccination front, the government has been continuously speeding up the vaccination drive across the country.

According to the bulletin issued by the Ministry on Thursday, 85.94 Crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far.

In the last 24 hours, a total of 6,56,410 tests have been conducted.

“India has administered 196.62 Cr doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive,” Ministry data said.

More than 193.53 Crore more vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far. Over 12.39 crore balance and unutilized Covid vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered, the ministry said. (UNI)
