Fears of COVID fourth wave increase; India registers over 7000 cases for second consecutive day

New Delhi: India recorded 7,584 new Covid-19, taking the total tally of cases to 4,32,05,106 in the country, as per the Health Ministry data on Friday.

As many as 24 fresh fatalities were also recorded during this time, taking the total death count in the country from coronavirus, to 52,4747.

The active cases currently stand at 36,267 which now comprise 0.08 percent of the total infections, while the national Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 98.70 percent.

Meanwhile, 3,791 recoveries were also reported, increasing the total number of recoveries to 4,26,44,092.

According to the Ministry's bulletin on Friday, 85.41 Crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far, with a total of 3,35,050 tests have been conducted since Thursday.

“India has administered 194.76 Cr doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive,” Ministry data said. (UNI)
