Kerala reports 15,637 new COVID cases, 128 deaths

Thiruvananthapuram: Covid-19 was newly detected in 15,637 persons in Kerala on Tuesday while 12,974 patients have recovered from the disease, according to the office of Health Minister Veena George here this evening.

A press release from the Minister's office said "1,55,882 samples were tested during the last 24 hours and the Test Positivity Rate (TPR) is 10.03%. A total of 2,48,04,801 samples have been sent for testing till this day."

Meanwhile, 128 recent deaths were confirmed today as due to Covid taking the death toll in the state to 14,938.

In the last 24 hours, Covid was not detected in any person who recently came to Kerala from the UK. So far, 11 people who came from the UK were diagnosed with the genetically modified virus. (UNI)
