Tirupati: Sri Govindananda Saraswati Swami of Hampi has strongly refuted once again that the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) claim of Anjanadri hillock in Tirumala as original birthplace of Hanuman was totally wrong.
A day after a heated debate with TTD pundits committee which published the controversial report, Swami from Hampi in Karnataka made a detailed presentation at the Tirupati Press Club on Friday about many mistakes in every page of TTD report on Anjaneya birthplace.
Speaking at the media conference Sri Govindananda Saraswati Swami reiterated that Hanuman was born to mother Anjanadevi at a village named Anjana Halli, 120 kms from Ahobila in Bellary district (now Koppal district) and close to Hampi shrine.
Quoting from puranic texts the Hampi Swami said TTD pundits had not made any in-depth research &study and with half-knowledge compiled the report. "The report had faulty credited Hanuman's birth in Tretayuga to Kaliyuga by TTD," he said.
He said even today there was a temple for Anjanadevi at Hampi with Anjaneya idol. It is tragic that TTD pundits in a hurry-burry compiled the document in four months and released it without clarity and credible accounts on the Sri Ramanavami day.
The Hampi Swami said that he had brought out all these lapses in writing to the TTD and its committee of Vedic pundits. Instead of accepting their mistakes and apologise to the society, it is sad that the TTD had chosen to ignore and condemn their critics, he added. (UNI)
