Vijayawada:Chinna Jeeyar Swamy, an Indian ascetic known for his spiritual discourses, announced that he would embark a statewide tour to infuse confidence and courage among Hindus in the wake of series of attacks on Hindu temples and destruction of idols.
Addressing a press conference at Tadepalli near here on Tuesday, he said that such a situation that nobody knows what would happen in the next minute prevailed in Andhra Pradesh.
"My Dhanurmasa deeksha will be completed on January 14. I will embark on my statewide tour on January 17. I will visit all the temples where the idols of Hindu deities were destroyed by miscreants'', he said.
His holiness Chinna Jeeyar Swamy said that he would interact with the locals at the temples and take their suggestions on how to protect temples.
“Stringent action should be taken against those who attacked temples and vandalized deities of Hindu gods. Politics should be linked to religious affairs. The State government should create confidence among Hindu on the attacks of Hindu temples”, he said.(UNI)
