Amarnath Yatra: Third batch of 6619 pilgrims leave from Jammu base camp

Jammu: On the third day from the start of the Shri Amarnath Yatra, the third batch of 6619 pilgrims on Sunday left for twin routes of Baltal and Pahalgam from the Bhagwati Nagar base camp here for the holy cave situated in South Kashmir.
 
The third batch of 6619 pilgrims early this morning left for Pahalgam and Baltal in a fleet of 319 vehicles.
 
As many as 3838 pilgrims left for Pahalgam and 2781 left for the Baltal.
 
A first batch of pilgrims for the 52-day Shri Amarnath Yatra was flagged off by the Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on June 28 from Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas base camp.
 
Last year around 4.5 lakh pilgrims paid obeisance at the holy cave.
 
This year the yatra will conclude on August 19.
