20 dead in bus-oil tanker collision in Pakistan's Punjab province

Islamabad:  At least 20 people were killed and six injured after a bus collided with an oil tanker in the wee hours of Tuesday near Jalalpur Peerwala district in Pakistan's Punjab province, according to local media reports.The ill-fated bus was on its way from Lahore to Karachi.(Symbolic Picture)

The passenger bus, which was travelling from Lahore to Karachi, hit the oil tanker from the rear side at Jalalpur Peerwala interchange on the motorway, the Dawn quoted Multan Deputy Commissioner Tahir Wattoo as saying, citing his statement.

A fire erupted following the collision and 20 people died on the spot, the statement added.Total 26 people, including a driver and a conductor, were on the board at the time of the incident.
