Bangladesh MP Mahmud Us Samad Chowdhury dies of coronavirus

Dhaka: Bangladesh lawmaker Mahmud Us Samad Chowdhury died of coronavirus, here at a hospital on Thursday.

His brother Ahmed Us Samad Chowdhury confirmed his death on Facebook.

Sylhet-3 MP was vaccinated on February 10 at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban premises. Then there were no side effects.

County Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has expressed deep grief over his demise. In a condolence message, he prayed for the forgiveness of the soul of the deceased and conveyed his deepest condolences to the bereaved family members.

Besides, Awami League Advisory Council member, 14-party coordinator and spokesperson Amir Hossain Amu also expressed his condolences.

Mahmud Us Samad Chowdhury’s personal secretary Julhas Ahmed said he was admitted to the hospital last Sunday night. On Monday, he was tested positive for COVID.

It is learned that he was not feeling well for some time. Last Sunday (March 8), he was on his way to Dhaka when he fell on the plane and complained of breath and was rushed to the United Hospital in Dhaka. (UNI)
