No case against Hafiz Saeed, says Pakistan PM

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has ruled out action against Jamaat-ud-Dawa chief Hafiz Saeed, saying that there is no case registered against him in Pakistan. "Action is taken when there is a case registered [against someone]," he said during a Geo News programme.He also said the Gwadar port, the starting point of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), is being used for commercial purposes and alleged that India has been waging a propaganda against the multi-billion dollar project.

Recently there were reports that China was looking to open a naval base in Gwadar to supplement its already existing Indian Ocean facility at Djibouti."Gwadar is a commercial port and it is being used for commercial purposes," he said.On Afghanistan, Abbasi said the country has to solve its problems, noting that Pakistan can only be a facilitator."We want Afghanistan to resolve its issues; no outsider would come to solve their problems," he said,
adding that re-settling three million Afghan nationals is important.

Abbasi said that around 60-70 thousand people come and go using the Pak-Afghan border on daily basis. About relations with the US, he said a dialogue with the US military is going on.(UNI)
