Not only in India, martyrdom day is also being observed in Pakistan

Moga: The Lahore High Court has asked Lahore Police in Pakistan to provide foolproof security to a function at Shadman Chowk in the city to commemorate the death anniversary of freedom fighter Bhagat Singh on Friday.The order came on a petition filed by the Chairman of Bhagat Singh Memorial Foundation, Pakistan seeking Lahore High Court directions for foolproof security for celebration of martyrdom day at Shadman Chowk. 

This information was shared by Chairman Imtiaz Rasheed Qureshi with International Bhai Mardana Yaadgar Society president Harpal Singh Bhullar on telephone on Tuesday.Mr Bhullar said on Wednesday that Imtiaz Rasheed Qureshi informed him that they had filed a petition in the Lahore High court seeking security on March 23, 2018 for celebration of martyrdom day at Shadman Chowk.

According to Bhullar, the court has directed the Lahore Police to provide foolproof security to a function at Shadman chowk in Lahore. The Court directed the Foundation Chairman advocate Imtiaz Rasheed Qureshi to meet the Capital City of Police officer (CCPO). Mr Qureshi alleged that they had received threats on telephone for the function. 

The Chairman is already fighting a case in the Lahore high court for renaming Shadman Chowk as Bhagat Singh Chowk. The Bhagat Singh Memorial Foundation Pakistan had filed a petition in the Lahore High Court under article 199 of the constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan 1973 seeking security on celebration of 87th anniversary of Shaheed Bhagat Singh in Lahore on March 23. (UNI)
