Islamabad: The death toll from floods triggered by heavy rains across Pakistan has crossed the grim milestone of 1,000, according to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) data.
Besides, 1,527 people were also injured in rain-related incidents, whereas 949,858 also were damaged, rendering millions of people homeless in the country.
According to the authority, the south Sindh province remained the worst-affected area during the ongoing monsoon. Total 347 people were killed and 1,009 others wounded in various rain-related mishaps.
Authorities said a massive relief and rescue operation was under way. (UNI)
