Moscow: The Russian armed forces have disabled a total of 1,502 military targets of Ukraine during the entire period of the special operation, Russian defense ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said on Wednesday.
"In total, 1,502 military infrastructure facilities of Ukraine were disabled during the operation," Konashenkov told reporters.
The destroyed facilities include 51 command posts and communications centers of the Ukrainian military, 38 S-300, Buk M-1 and Osa air defense missile systems, 51 radar stations, 47 aircraft on the ground and 11 aircraft in the air, 472 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 62 multiple rocket launchers, 206 field artillery pieces and mortars, 336 units of special military vehicles, 46 unmanned aerial vehicles.
"The ... Russian aerospace forces delivered a massive air strike on the military infrastructure of Ukraine. [A total of] 67 objects are hit," he added.
Russian army hit Kyiv's cyber facilities
Russia's armed forces have struck at the information warfare and psychological operations center of the Ukrainian forces and facilities of the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) in Kyiv to stop information attacks against Russia, defense ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said on Wednesday.
"To suppress information attacks against Russia, the SBU technological facilities and the 72nd Center for Information and Psychological Operations in Kyiv were hit with high-precision weapons. The hardware broadcasting of the TV tower was disabled," Konashenkov told reporters.
No residential buildings were damaged as a result of the operation, he added.
Rocket hits police HQ in Ukraine's Kharkiv
A rocket hit the police headquarters in Ukraine's Kharkiv city on Wednesday.
According to UNIAN news agency, the building was nearly destroyed and firefighters were trying to put out the fire.
A building of Karazin National University was also on fire following the attack, BBC quoted Anton Geraschenko, an adviser to Ukraine's Interior Minister, as saying.
The city mayor said, at least 21 people were killed and 112 injured in shelling in the second most populous city.
In a Facebook post, Oleh Sinehubov, the head of the Kharkiv regional administration, said Ukrainian defence positions were "constantly under the influence of enemy fire, aviation, jet artillery, and firearms", overnight, The Guardian reported.
According to the Ukrainian military, the aerial assault began just as air raid sirens were starting to sound in Kharkiv and the surrounding region.
The statement said that the Russian troops attacked a regional military hospital, and that fighting is ongoing. (Inputs from UNI)
