Kyiv: Russian rockets have hit an apartment block in Chasiv Yar, a town in eastern Ukraine, killing at least 15 people, citing officials, media reports said on Sunday.

BBC citing officials reported that about 20 more were feared buried under rubble. Five victims have been brought out alive. The toll was given by a Ukrainian emergency services official.

The report said that the attack ripped apart one side of the five-storey building and left a ''mountain of rubble.'' Chasiv Yar is near the city of Kramatorsk, in Donetsk region.

Regional governor Pavlo Kyrylenko claimed that the destruction was caused by Russian Uragan rockets. (UNI)
