Syrian rebels ban mandatory hijab for women: Reports

Beirut: Syrian rebel command has announced a ban on the forced wearing of the hijab for women, the country's newspaper Al-Watan has reported.
 
It is strictly forbidden to interfere with women's right to choose clothes or to make claims against them related to their appearance, the newspaper reported.
 
The rebel command has also banned harassment of employees of state media, including threats against them.
