Kolkata: As the grand festival of Durga Puja approaches, the essence of Nari Shakti (women’s empowerment) will to be celebrated through an extraordinary artistic presentation of the triumph of good over evil.
The captivating dance drama named “Durgatinashini”, to be staged on September 22 at Rabindra Sadan, aims to project goddess Durga’s triumph over the demon Mahishasur, symbolising the timeless victory of good over evil and the enduring power of the feminine spirit.
The programme will witness a mesmerising performance by renowned Odissi dancer Dona Ganguly and her troupe, Diksha Manjari.
Famed for her mastery and passion for traditional Indian dance, Dona Ganguly will lead her dancers in a visually stunning retelling of Durga’s battle with Mahishasur.
Celebrated artist Ketan Sengupta will deliver a live recital of the iconic radio broadcast show, ‘Mahishasur Mardini’, invocating Devi Durga. His captivating voice and powerful storytelling will certainly immerse the audience in the spiritual essence of Durga Puja.
