Puri Jagannath Temple Ratna Bhandar to be opened on July 8? Odisha minister says 'No decision yet'

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Law Minister Prithivraj Harichandan has clarified that no decision has been taken to open the Bhitar Ratna Bhandar of Sri Jagannath Temple.
 
Harichandan was reacting to the statement of ASI Superintending Archaeologist Dr. D. B. Garnayak, in charge of the ASI Puri Circle, who told newsmen that the Bhitar Ratna Bhandar will be opened on July 8, a day after the commencement of the annual Rath Yatra of the presiding deities of Sri Jagannath Temple. .
 
The law minister said no proposal from the Shree Jagannath Temple Managing Committee regarding the opening of Ratna Bhandar had been received by the government on Wednesday.
He said if any such proposal is received by the government in the future, necessary action will be taken.
 
Harichandan also said the state government is contemplating initiating action against the ASI official for circulating misleading information on the opening of Ratna Bhandar on July 8 next.
