1993 Mumbai bomb blasts convict brutally murdered in fight between 2 groups in Kolhapur jail

Kolhapur: A convict in 1993 Mumbai serial bomb blasts case was brutally murdered in a fight between two groups of prisoners at Kalamba jail in the district on Sunday morning.
 
Convict Munna alias Mohammad Ali Khan alias Manojkumar Bhavarlal Gupta, who was undergoing sentence in Kalamba district Jail, was going to take a bath this morning, when five inmates attacked and beat him with a drainage cover, killing him on the spot, police said.
 
Following incident, district jail authority informed Juna Rajwada police, who rushed to spot and detained five prisoners.
 
They were identified as Pratik Suresh Patil alias Pilya, Deepak Netaji Khot, Sandeep Shankar Chavan, Ruturaj Vinayak Inamdar and Saurabh Vikas Siddh.
 
Further investigation is on, sources added.
