2 civilians killed in ceasefire violation by Pakistan

Jammu: Two civilians were killed and seven others injured when Pakistani troops opened fire along the International Border here early on Friday. Pakistan early morning fired heavily in Arnia, R S Pura sectors of Jammu and also targeted villages in Ramgarh sector of Samba and Hiranagar sector of Kathua, an official said here.So far, there are reports of deaths of two civilian killings and injuries to seven in Arnia and R S Pura belts."Exchange of firing is on," said an official.

He said that BSF troops are befittingly replying to the cross-border firing.The deceased were identified as Bachno Devi,50, resident of Saikhurd, Arnia killed in Border Firing in Arnia Sector and one Sahil, 25, resident of Kortana RS Pura.Some of the injured, identified as Jeet Raj 55, resident of Saikhurd, his son Ravi Kumar and Krishan Lal, 50, son of Ujagar Singh of Kottana, R S Pura, are hospitalised.A BSF soldier and a lady died on Thursday in Pak firing in Arnia.DG BSF K K Sharma in Jammu had said that situation is tense and war-like along border, LC and commanders on ground have been asked to give a strong reply to the Pak firing.(UNI)
