5 killed in LPG cylinder explosion in Agra

Agra: Five people were killed and 10 others suffered critical burn injuries when a LPG cylinder exploded in Eradatnagar area of the Taj city on Monday night. 
Police sources here said that  the incident occurred in the house of one Himmat Singh in Dandki village. The women members of the family were cooking food in their kitchen when the cylinder exploded.      
 
Due to the explosion, a portion of the two-storied house collapsed, killing two people.
Police Circle Officer(CO) Namrata Srivastava along with local BJP MLA Mahesh Goel rushed to the spot in the night to launch the rescue and relief operation.
 
The family members said that three people were burnt alive in the cylinder blast and two died after a portion of the house collapsed.The deceased include Giriraj Singh (61), Kamal Singh (45), Mahavir (40) and Om Prakash (27).The injured have been admitted to the Agra Medical College Hospital.(UNI)
