New Delhi:AAP MLA and senior leader Atishi said that the AAP demands a CBI inquiry for the loss of Rs 2500 crores, which was payable by South MCD to North MCD. She said that it is important to take stringent action against BJP South MCD and North MCD leaders who have received money to propagate this loss.

She said that the councilors and MLAs of AAP will visit the LG and Home Minister tomorrow to demand CBI inquiry into the matter and wait outside their residences tomorrow till the time they don't issue orders for CBI inquiry into the loss of public exchequer of Rs. 2500 crores. "The way the Delhi Police has allowed BJP councilors to sit outside Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence, I am sure they will allow us to sit outside the LG's and Home Minister's residence at 11 AM tomorrow, that too along with providing us with full protection," she added.

Addressing a press conference, she said, "On one hand, BJP-led North MCD constantly claims that they do not have money and are incapable of paying salaries to the doctors, nurses, sanitation workers, and other staff, but on the other hand, they can waive off Rs. 2500 crore which was payable by South Delhi MCD."

She said, "If you check the accounts of South MCD of the last many years, they clearly state that Rs. 2500 crore was the payable rent for the SDMC office at Civic Center. But in this year's budget, the rent payable is shown as 0. The question that now arises is where are these Rs. 2500 crores? Where has this money been appropriated? Which North MCD BJP leader and South MCD BJP leader received money to turn these Rs. 2500 crores into 0. These Rs 2500 crores which were to come to the North MCD have reduced to a loss to the public exchequer. Who is responsible for this loss, this corruption? To investigate the matter, Minister of Urban Development Shri Satyendar Jain issued an order to enquire about this loss to the public exchequer."

"Today, the Aam Aadmi Party demands this matter be investigated by the CBI. We demand that there be a CBI inquiry for this loss to the public exchequer, and who received money to propagate this loss because the masses deserve to know who is responsible for this. There must be stringent action taken against the culprits because it is with these Rs 2500 crores, that the doctors, staff, nurses, teachers, our covid warriors could have been paid salaries," she added.

Atishi said, "The councilors and MLAs of the Aam Aadmi Party will be visiting the Lieutenant Governor at 11 am on December 13, tomorrow, to demand CBI inquiry in this matter. We will also be visiting Home Minister Amit Shah's residence at 11 am tomorrow to demand a CBI inquiry into the loss. Our MLAs and Counsellors will protest in front of the LG's and Home Ministers' residences till the time they don't issue orders for CBI inquiry into the matter. As it is, Delhi Police's new rules allow staging a protest in front of the residences of constitutional authorities. The way the Delhi Police has allowed BJP councilors to sit outside Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence, I am sure they will allow us to sit outside the LG's and Home Minister's residence at 11 AM tomorrow, that too along with providing us with full protection. We will be sitting there till the time they do not issue orders of CBI inquiry into the matter."

Replying to a question, Atishi said, "The sit-in protest by the BJP mayor and its councilors for the last few days, demanding an outstanding amount of Rs. 13000 crores, everyone knows that the protest is baseless. The Delhi government does not owe anything to the MCD. Our demand of the CBI inquiry into the matter of loss of Rs 2500 crores, due to which we are going to Home Minister's and LG's residence tomorrow, is correct, factual, and has a basis. We hope that the LG and Home Minister Amit Shah will allow CBI inquiry into the scam at the earliest and, at the same time, we sincerely expect the Delhi Police to allow us to sit outside LG's and Home Minister's residence, just like they have allowed BJP mayors and councilors to sit outside Delhi CM's residence."
