AAP seeks suggestions for CM candidate in Punjab

New Delhi: Ahead of Punjab assembly elections 2022, AAP National convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal launched a toll free telephone number seeking suggestions from the people regarding who should be the Chief Ministerial candidate for the party, here on Thursday.

"First time in India's history, people will decide - who should be their CM candidate" Kejriwal said while laughing the toll free number on Thursday.

He also exuded confidence that the chief ministerial face of AAP will be the next chief minister of Punjab.He further clarified that he himself is not in the race. Kejriwal said that though he floated the idea of projecting Bhagwant Mann as the chief ministerial face of AAP, but the latter said that the people of Punjab should decide the CM of their state.

Adding that the people of Punjab should decide the CM-face of AAP in Punjab, Kejriwal said that the voters can register their choice of Punjab CM face for AAP on the toll-free number.

He released the number - 7074870748 in the presence of MP Bhagwant Maan and Party Co- incharge of the state affair Raghav Chadda and other leaders.The number will be open till 5 pm on January 17.

Punjab will vote in a single phase on February 14, with the counting of votes taking place on March 10. Currently, the state has a Congress government, while the Aam Aadmi Party is the principal opposition.(UNI)
