Chennai: Popular film actor Vijay's Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam founder (TVK) has come out in support of the recent resolution adopted in the Tamil Nadu Assembly urging the Centre to abolish NEET nationally, besides seeking Presidential assent to the NEET Exemption Bill passed in the House.

Speaking at an event organised by his party to ‘meet- and-greet’ to honour toppers of this year’s board exams, he said the recent irregularities in the NEET exams showed that there was no need for a national-level entrance for medical college admissions.

“I wholeheartedly welcome the State government’s resolution against NEET", he said, while stressing that the Centre should respect the sentiments of the Tamil people and abolish NEET without any further delay.

He also favoured that Education should be brought to the State list from the Concurrent list.
