Air India announces 40 pc discount on last minute bookings

New Delhi: State-owned Air India would give 40 per cent discount on available seats if booked within three hours of departure on domestic routes, the airline announced on Friday."The last minute traveller who generally travels due to an emergency is often faced with very high ticket prices. 

"Such high prices are a deterrent and the national carrier has therefore decided for the domestic sector that "very last moment inventory" ie available seats within 3 hours of departure would be sold at a hefty discount, normally exceeding forty percent of the selling price," airline spokesperson Dhananjay Kumar said here.

He said the decision was taken during a commercial review meeting at Air India headquarters. The decision, as otherwise in the aviation sector prices increase steeply closer to the departure, will be a big boon to the last minute travelers, he added

Tickets can be purchased from all outlets including Air India booking counters, Air India mobile app, Air India website and travel agents.(UNI)
