At least 41 killed due to thunderstorm, lightning in several parts of UP

Lucknow:At least 41 people were killed in thunderstorm and lightning incidents in several parts of Uttar Pradesh along with heavy rains.More than 32 were also injured in the incidents in the state on Sunday.
In Prayagraj alone, 14 people lost their lives, while four people got burnt. Four people died in Kaushambi and one in Pratapgarh districts. Five including three women died in Fatehpur and five including a woman in Kanpur dehat died due to lightning. Two each died in Unnao and Ferozabad due to lightning, one each in Aurriya, Hamirpur, Banda, Sonebhadra, Chandauli, Rae Bareli, Sultanpur and Mirzapur.
 
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed deep grief over the loss of lives due to lightning in the srate and has asked the concerned district authorities to provide relief to the affected families.
 
CM has directed to immediately distribute the permissible relief amount to the families of the deceased and condolences have been expressed to the bereaved families. At the same time, instructions have also been given for the treatment of the injured.
 
According to a report from Prayagraj district, three people died in Koraon police station area of ??Prayagraj, three in Bara and two in Karchana. Six people lost their lives at different places in Soraon Tehsil of Gangapar. Among the dead are one boy, two teenagers, three teenage girls and three women and middle-aged and elderly people.
 
Additional District Magistrate (ADM) (Finance and Revenue) Prayagraj MP Singh said on Monday that the details of those who died due to the lightning and the damage report have been sent to the government. Rs 4 lakhs will be given to the deceased dependents. Six buffaloes and five goats also died in the lightning.
 
Reportedly, two people each died in Kaushambi's Chail and Manjhanpur tehsils. A young man, who was planting paddy in Lalganj tehsil area, lost his life due to a thunderstorm in Pratapgarh. Five others got burnt here.
 
On Sunday, 16 people died and 14 were injured in Kanpur and adjoining districts due to lightning. Five including three women in Fatehpur, five including a woman in Kanpur Dehat, a woman and an old farmer in Hamirpur, two in Unnao, a youth in Ghatampur and a young woman in Banda were killed in the thunderstorm.
 
Nine villagers were injured in Farrukhabad and five in Fatehpur due to thunderstorms. 39 cattle including 34 goats died in Ghatampur. Three buffaloes died in Maheva of Orai and two in Chitrakoot.
 
A farmer Hemraj and his neighbor Ramsevak died in Nagla Umar village of Firozabad due to lightning.Nine women who had gone to plant paddy got injured due to lightning in the field with strong thunder and lightning near Kalkalwa Margin dam of Bargadaha village of Shravasti district.
 
The mother who was breastfeeding the infant died of a heart attack due to lightning near the house in Obra, in Sonbhadra disttict, while the innocent survived safely. On the other hand, Vikal, son of Rajkumar, a resident of Rickshaw Khurd under Madihan police station of Mirzapur district, died on Sunday evening due to lightning.(UNI)
