Bihar: 6 convicted for conspiracy to blow up railway track with IED pressure cooker bomb in Ghodasahan

Patna: Special National Investigation Agency (NIA) court convicted six accused for planting IED pressure cooker bomb on the railway track under foreign terrorist conspiracy near Ghodasahan railway station in East Champaran district.

After hearing the case, Special judge Abhijit Sinha on Thursday convicted Motilal Paswan, Ranjay Sah, Mukesh Yadav, Rakesh Kumar Yadav, Gajendra Sharma and Umashankar Patel, residents of Motihari area of ??East Champaran district, under various sections of the Railway Act, Explosive Substances Act and Prevention of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

The hearing on the point of sentence will be held on October 05.

As per the charges a conspiracy was hatched in Pakistan to blow up railway tracks with the help of two Nepali citizens and some local people in order to create terror in the country. To execute it money was transferred from United Arab Emirates (UAE) in different bank accounts for funding the terrorist conspiracy.

The bombs planted at the railway track was recovered even before the major explosion. FIR was lodged by the railway police in Raxaul.

The case was handed over to NIA after terrorist activities were detected during investigation.

The NIA submitted chargesheet against 9 accused on July 24 2016 showing Brij Kishore Giri and Dhamsul Hoda both Nepali citizens as absconding and another accused Arun Ram as dead.

Six accused arrested in this connection were convicted and were behind the bars at Beur Central Jail Patna.
