New Delhi:BJP on Monday appointed Mr C R Patil as president of Gujarat BJP and young lawmaker Jamyang Tsering Namgyal as Ladakh president.
Chandrakant Raghunath Patil, who represents the Navsari constituency of Gujarat, will replace Jitendrabhai Vaghani, according to a BJP statement here.BJP president J P Nadda appointed 35-year old Mr Namgyal as president of Ladakh unit of BJP.
Mr Namgyal, popularly known as JTN, gained prominence in media and social media after his speech in the Lok Sabha in support of the bill ensuring re-designation of Ladakh as a Union Territory, and the revocation of special status to Jammu and Kashmir.
The appointments will be applicable immediately, the statement added.
