BSF personnel injured by cattle smugglers along Indo-Bangladesh border

New Delhi: India's premier border guarding force BSF on Sunday said that its border personnel were injured by the trans-border cattle smugglers on the Indo-Bangladesh border in South Dinajpur district of the West Bengal.

According to the BSF officials, around 2225 hrs IST on Saturday, the BSF troops on duty detected movement of 8-10 cattle smugglers along with cattle coming from Indian side along the bank of Chhoti Jamuna river with an intent to cross the cattle towards Bangladesh side.

The alert troops guarding the border challenged the smugglers to stop but they aggressively encircled and assaulted BSF troops with sticks during which one of the BSF troops sustained injury on his head.

Injured BSF personnel has been evacuated to the local Government hospital at Hili for medical treatment wherein his condition is presently stable, the spokesperson of the Force headquarter said. (UNI)
