Lucknow:Blaming the ruling BJP of gross misuse of power and money like SP used to do in the past, Bahujan Samaj party president Mayawati on Friday announced not to participate in the Block Prakmukh polls slated in Uttar Pradesh tomorrow.
BSP had also skipped the district panchayat chairperson elections too early this month. She also charged the Samajwadi Party of trying to make people believe that they are opposing the BJP but in reality it is just the opposite. SP and BJP both are indulging in violence to grab power.

In series of tweets on Friday , Ms Mayawati said,"During the election of district panchayat president and now block chief by BJP in UP Panchayat elections, the gross misuse of power and money power and violence etc., brings back many such memories of SP rule. That is why BSP decided not to contest both these indirect elections."

She says," Now the UP Assembly elections are near, then the verbal opposition and aggression that the SP is showing against the BJP government is very deceiving and unbelievable, because of all these abuses of power and winning elections at all costs, etc., during the entire reign of SP, there has been a lot of discussion and people didn't forget it."

She also questioned," At the same time, why is the SP still inactive on the rights of the poor, farmers and unemployed etc. and the injustice-atrocities and violence happening here on the Dalits, backward and Muslim society, etc. This is also something to think about."(UNI)
