Cong denies reports of Ajay Maken's resignation

New Delhi: The Congress on Tuesday denied reports that senior leader Ajay Maken has resigned as chief of the party's Delhi unit and clarified that he has gone abroad for treatment.
"Maken ji has not resigned as Delhi Congress chief," party sources said, adding that he has gone abroad for treatment.He left India on Sunday, they said. No information is,  however,  available as to where Mr Maken is undergoing treatment.
 
Mr Maken, a senior Congress leader,  was twice elected as a Member of Parliament, and thrice to the Delhi Legislative Assembly. He was appointed as Delhi Congress Committee president in 2015.(UNI)
